About The Position
La Palma Intercommunity Hospital is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician to provide direct and indirect patient care services requiring technical and manual skills within the scope of practice. The role supports patients’ psychosocial, physical, and general care needs and communication needs of patients and families. The LVN/Licensed Psychiatric Technician works under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse and demonstrates knowledge of EMTALA regulations and the triage process in the emergency room setting.
Requirements
- Current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Nice To Haves
- IV certification upon hire preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience in an applicable setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care services within the scope of practice.
- Address the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of patient care.
- Meet the communication needs of patients and families.
- Perform under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrate knowledge of EMTALA regulations and the emergency room triage process.
