About The Position

Signet Health manages behavioral health services at Permian Basin Behavioral Health Center in Midland, Texas, and is hiring a full-time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). The LVN provides direct patient care, administers medications, monitors vital signs, and performs basic patient assessments under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Nursing Leaders. The role also involves educating patients, assisting with daily activities, and supporting treatment-team planning for people with mental health and substance use disorders.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Completion of an LVN Certification Program.
Current, active LVN license to practice in Texas.
At least one year of experience in a behavioral health setting, such as a psychiatric or substance use facility.
Strong observation skills.
Knowledge of basic nursing care and patient safety protocols.

Responsibilities

Monitor and document patient behavior, progress, and responses to treatment.
Administer prescribed medications, including psychotropic medications; change bandages; and note patient reactions.
Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and hygiene.
Document care in the electronic health record (EHR).
Measure and document vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate.
Perform appropriate patient assessments and document them in the EHR for nurses and physicians.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers or therapists, dietary staff, and pharmacy, to ensure treatment plans are created correctly.
Facilitate group therapy sessions or recreational activities.
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
