About The Position

Upstate Veterinary Specialties, a leading specialty and emergency veterinary hospital in New York’s Capital District, is seeking compassionate, team-oriented Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs) to join their day shift Emergency team. This role offers the opportunity to grow skills in a fast-paced, high-impact environment, directly supporting life-saving care for animals. The position is ideal for those experienced in ER or looking to transition into emergency medicine.

Requirements

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in New York (or eligible for licensure)
• At least 1 year of clinical experience preferred
• Interest in emergency and critical care medicine
• Strong technical, organizational, and teamwork skills
• Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
• Embrace our culture and display empathy, kindness, and patience in all aspects of their work

Nice To Haves

• ER experience a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for emergency and critical care patients
• Monitor anesthesia and patient vitals; administer treatments and medications
• Assist with emergency surgeries, procedures, and diagnostics
• Collaborate closely with veterinarians and fellow technicians
• Deliver compassionate care to patients and clear communication to team members
