About The Position

Community Options, Inc. is a national nonprofit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 11 states. The organization is hiring full-time Weekend Warrior Direct Support Professionals in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, to provide person-centered care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. No prior experience is required; paid training is provided. The position requires flexibility to work full-time weekend hours and pays a starting rate of $19.25 per hour, with an enhanced rate for weekend flexibility.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving support.
Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations.
Successful completion of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing checks is a condition of employment.
Flexibility to work full-time weekend hours.

Responsibilities

Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Assist with daily routines, including cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and personal hygiene.
Monitor individuals’ health and medical needs and immediately report concerns.
Support individuals in learning and developing independent and community-based skills.
Participate with individuals in community, social, and recreational activities.
Drive individuals to medical appointments and community activities.
Complete program documentation and billable records accurately and on time.
Cooperate with licensing and department staff during inspections, inquiries, or investigations.
