About The Position

Headspace is seeking part-time, independently licensed therapists to provide direct virtual care as contractors on a 1099 basis, as part of a multidisciplinary team. Therapists are strongly encouraged to have at least 10 hours available per week, with flexibility to adjust availability. It may take several weeks to build a consistent schedule because of care demand and member scheduling fluctuations. Therapists must be licensed and reside in one of the 50 U.S. states, and all work and access to personal health information must take place in the United States. Compensation is $82–$87 per teletherapy session; the exact rate is determined during the interview process based on factors such as location, license type, experience, specializations, languages, and populations treated. Intake sessions are 60 minutes and follow-up sessions are 45 minutes. Concurrent note-taking is expected and included in the session rate. Headspace offers clinical training and support, quality assurance, evidence-based educational resources, administrative and clinical tools, and opportunities to collaborate with a community of care providers. Therapists provide care through a HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platform and use an EMR. A safe, secure location and reliable internet connection are required. The role requires at least three years of clinical psychotherapy experience and an independent clinical license in good standing at the master’s or doctoral level, without the need for clinical supervision. A BC-TMH credential is required if mandated by the therapist’s state of licensure. Candidates must be able to offer at least 10 sessions per week, with flexibility to adjust as needed. Night and weekend flexibility is a plus. Headspace emphasizes evidence-based and measurement-based care, culturally responsive practice, and effective communication within interdisciplinary teams. Preferred qualifications include licensure in multiple states, psychologist licensure with willingness to apply for or current enrollment in PSYPACT, ability to serve varied populations, multilingual skills, familiarity with the Headspace app and content, and willingness to offer evening availability. The posting also describes privacy and ethical requirements related to avoiding dual relationships. Individuals who have received Headspace coaching or clinical services are asked to wait until their care is complete before applying. If hired, their Headspace account will be deactivated for the duration of employment. If an ethical issue cannot otherwise be resolved, Headspace may delay a start date or require a leave of absence.
