About The Position

Adjuvant is seeking an empathetic, experienced mental health professional to support its mission of advancing mental wellness for cancer patients, their families, and caregivers. This fully remote therapist role focuses on facilitating hope and change for clients affected by cancer. The therapist accepts referrals and maintains a client load of at least 18 hours per week. Pay is $55–$60 per hour.

Requirements

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Two years of professional-level experience in a counselor setting.
Current and active license to practice behavioral health in Tennessee.

Nice To Haves

2 or more years of experience in healthcare with oncology.
1 year of experience in telehealth settings.

Responsibilities

Counsel clients individually and/or in family sessions to help them overcome dependencies, adjust to life, or make changes.
Make internal referrals to IOP if a client shows little to no improvement after 8 weeks of outpatient therapy.
Guide clients in developing skills or strategies to address their problems.
Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge, and establish SMART goals with patients. Create treatment plans within 72 hours of intake and update or modify them every 4 weeks.
Complete and maintain client-related paperwork, including diagnostic records and progress notes. Complete progress notes within 48 hours after each session.
Prepare and maintain required treatment records and reports.
Evaluate clients’ physical or mental condition based on a review of client information.
Collaborate with staff on clinical assessments or treatment plans within 2 days of establishing care with an existing patient.
Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or specialists as needed.
Keep current with developments in counseling by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, or maintaining contact with other social service agencies.
Accept referrals and maintain a client load of at least 18 hours per week.
