About The Position

Adjuvant is a behavioral health provider focused on supporting cancer patients, their families, and caregivers. The Licensed Professional Counselor facilitates hope and change for clients affected by cancer, using a respectful, constructive, and energetic approach guided by the clinic’s mission. The therapist accepts referrals and maintains a client load of at least 18 hours per week. This is a fully remote position paying $55–$60 per hour.

Requirements

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Two years of professional-level experience in a counselor setting.
Current, active license to practice behavioral health in Tennessee.

Nice To Haves

At least two years of experience in healthcare with oncology.
One year of experience in telehealth settings.

Responsibilities

Counsel clients individually and/or in family sessions to help them overcome dependencies, adjust to life, or make changes.
Refer clients internally to IOP if there is little or no improvement after eight weeks of outpatient therapy.
Guide clients in developing skills or strategies to address their problems.
Develop treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge, establish SMART goals with patients, complete plans within 72 hours after intake, and update or modify them every four weeks.
Complete and maintain client paperwork, including diagnostic records and progress notes; complete progress notes within 48 hours after each session.
Prepare and maintain required treatment records and reports.
Evaluate clients’ physical or mental condition based on a review of client information.
Collaborate with staff on clinical assessments or treatment plans within two days of establishing care with an existing patient.
Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or specialists as necessary.
Stay informed about developments in counseling through professional literature, courses, seminars, and contact with other social service agencies.
