About The Position
Valley Hope of O'Neill is hiring a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse for night shifts at its residential addiction treatment facility in O'Neill, Nebraska. The nurse provides compassionate medical care to patients through their treatment, typically from admission to discharge during 30–45 days of care. Valley Hope offers a nurse residency program to help nurses succeed in the role. The LPN carries out prescribed treatments and medication interventions, implements nursing care in accordance with Valley Hope policies and medical philosophies, and supports patients during detoxification. The role also involves maintaining accurate patient records, communicating with nursing and clinical colleagues, maintaining a safe and sanitary environment, protecting patient information, and overseeing non-licensed nursing staff as directed. The position involves walking throughout the facility and direct contact with patients.
Requirements
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse to practice in the state of employment.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Responsibilities
- Execute prescribed treatments and medication interventions established for each patient.
- Implement nursing care in accordance with Valley Hope’s medical philosophies, policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Conduct detox admissions and provide patient care during detoxification, including pre-screening, obtaining physical assessment data and health history, administering detox treatment plans, and monitoring patients.
- Record treatment activities and patient observations accurately and promptly in patient records, and complete required paperwork.
- Communicate with nursing supervisors, nursing staff, and clinical staff regarding patients’ treatment and status.
- Maintain a safe and sanitary environment using infection control techniques and universal precautions.
- Follow policies and procedures for protecting patient information and HIPAA compliance.
- Oversee non-licensed nursing staff as instructed by and under the direction of the facility Nursing Director.
