About The Position

Valley Hope of O’Neill is hiring a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse for night shifts at its residential addiction treatment facility in O’Neill, Nebraska. The role provides compassionate medical care to patients during treatment, typically from admission through discharge over a 30–45-day period. Valley Hope offers a nurse residency program to help nurses succeed in the role.

The LPN carries out prescribed treatments and medication interventions, implements nursing care in accordance with Valley Hope’s medical philosophies and procedures, and supports patients during detoxification. The position also involves documenting care and observations, communicating with nursing and clinical staff, maintaining a safe and sanitary environment, protecting patient information, and overseeing non-licensed nursing staff when instructed by and under the direction of the facility Nursing Director.

Requirements

• Current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse to practice in the state of employment.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

Responsibilities

• Execute prescribed treatments and medication interventions established for each patient.
• Implement nursing care in accordance with Valley Hope’s medical philosophies, policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Conduct detox admissions and provide care during detoxification, including pre-screening patients, obtaining physical assessment data and health history, administering detox treatment plans, and monitoring patients.
• Record treatment activities and patient observations accurately and promptly, and complete required paperwork.
• Communicate with nursing supervisors, nursing staff, and clinical staff about patients’ treatment and status.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment using infection-control techniques and universal precautions.
• Follow policies and procedures for protecting patient information and complying with HIPAA.
• Oversee non-licensed nursing staff as instructed by and under the direction of the facility Nursing Director.
