About The Position

Pediatric Specialty Care in Point Pleasant, PA is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for night shift and weekend-only opportunities. This role involves caring for medically fragile and technology-dependent children and young adults in a pediatric long-term care environment. LPNs provide skilled nursing care to residents with complex medical and developmental needs, requiring strong clinical observation, communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and consistency of care. Experience with medically complex or technology-dependent patients is beneficial. The position offers 12-hour shifts, with a night shift differential of an additional $5.00 per hour. There is an every-other-weekend requirement for regularly scheduled positions, and a weekend-only scheduling option is available. Day-shift opportunities may also be available. The location is accessible from Bucks County, the Lehigh Valley, and Central New Jersey.

Requirements

  • Current Pennsylvania LPN license in good standing or an active multistate LPN license with authorization to practice in Pennsylvania
  • Current BLS/CPR and First Aid certification
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Meets the qualifications of a Child Care Supervisor under 55 Pa. Code Chapter 3800
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate or more advanced level to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, coworkers, and supervisors

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric training or nursing experience preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Deliver nursing care based on each resident’s individualized care plan and evolving clinical needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately in accordance with provider orders.
  • Monitor residents closely, recognize changes in condition, and communicate concerns promptly to the appropriate clinical team members.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, RNs, and other disciplines to coordinate care and support treatment decisions.
  • Contribute to admission evaluations, ongoing assessments, care planning, and resident and family education.
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation, including nursing notes, medication and treatment records, and care-plan updates.
  • Provide clear, thorough change-of-shift reports to support continuity and safety across the nursing team.
  • Practice within the LPN scope, seeking RN guidance or immediate clinical support when a resident’s needs or condition require escalation.
  • Participate in orientation, continuing education, quality-improvement initiatives, and the ongoing development of Nurse Technicians.
