About The Position

Pediatric Specialty Care in Point Pleasant, PA is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to provide skilled, attentive nursing care to medically fragile and technology-dependent children and young adults in a pediatric long-term care environment. This role requires strong clinical observation, thoughtful communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and consistency of care. LPNs with experience caring for medically complex or technology-dependent patients may be especially well prepared for this opportunity. We offer night shift and weekend-only opportunities with 12-hour shifts, and a night-shift differential of an additional $5.00 per hour. Day-shift opportunities may also be available.

Requirements

• Current Pennsylvania LPN license in good standing or an active multistate LPN license with authorization to practice in Pennsylvania
• Current BLS/CPR and First Aid certification
• At least 21 years of age
• Meets the qualifications of a Child Care Supervisor under 55 Pa. Code Chapter 3800
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate or more advanced level to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, coworkers, and supervisors

Nice To Haves

• Pediatric training or nursing experience preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care based on each resident’s individualized care plan and evolving clinical needs.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately in accordance with provider orders.
• Monitor residents closely, recognize changes in condition, and communicate concerns promptly to the appropriate clinical team members.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, RNs, and other disciplines to coordinate care and support treatment decisions.
• Contribute to admission evaluations, ongoing assessments, care planning, and resident and family education.
• Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation, including nursing notes, medication and treatment records, and care-plan updates.
• Provide clear, thorough change-of-shift reports to support continuity and safety across the nursing team.
• Practice within the LPN scope, seeking RN guidance or immediate clinical support when a resident’s needs or condition require escalation.
• Participate in orientation, continuing education, quality-improvement initiatives, and the ongoing development of Nurse Technicians.
