About The Position

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Lawrenceburg is seeking a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for their Pediatric Clinic. This role involves providing direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, performing interventions, administering medication, documenting patient care, and assisting with daily living activities. The LPN will also play a role in monitoring patient status, advocating for patient well-being, and scheduling appointments and procedures.

Requirements

• Current Tennessee or compact state LPN license
• Graduate of a Practical Nursing program
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 7 days of hire
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• LPN License for the State of Tennessee
• Graduate of a Practical Nursing program

Nice To Haves

• One-year previous experience preferred

Responsibilities

• As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
• May administer medication.
• Documents patient care given.
• Assists RN with development of plan of care.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Schedules appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.
• Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested for testing and scheduled procedures.
