About The Position

Benchmark Senior Living is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to deliver nursing care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment. The position works as part of a supportive team and helps build lasting relationships with residents and associates. The role is part time and is offered on first and second shifts.

Requirements

• Current state LPN license and CPR certification.
• Graduate of an approved LPN program, per state requirements.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of experience working as a nurse is preferred.
• Previous experience working with elderly people in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents’ status.
• Observe and report significant changes in residents’ behavior or health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, Resident Care Assistants, and Executive Director, as required by state regulations.
• Direct and supervise Resident Care Assistants’ daily work assignments.
• Mentor, guide, and direct Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their jobs.
• Coordinate care needs with community providers through an effective case management process.
• Balance service demands with support for resident independence.
• Recognize and help prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and report concerns to appropriate sources per state regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response systems, and know when to call for backup.
