About The Position

This role involves providing direct nursing care to two elementary students with medical needs, including independent tracheostomy management. The position offers a structured healthcare plan, oversight from the district's school nurse, and a consistent Monday through Friday schedule. It is ideal for an LPN experienced in tracheostomy care who values collaboration and independence.

Requirements

  • Completion of an approved practical nursing education program.
  • Active Oregon Licensed Practical Nurse license in good standing.
  • Prior tracheostomy care experience is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently clean, manage, and support a tracheostomy.
  • Ability to provide nursing services within the individual scope of LPN practice.
  • Strong collaboration skills and an interest in school-based nursing practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to students throughout the school day according to their healthcare plans.
  • Independently clean, manage, and support a tracheostomy, requiring care approximately every hour.
  • Communicate with the school nurse and school team regarding student needs, services, and changes in health status.
  • Follow student healthcare plans and communicate changes or concerns to the supervising school nurse.
  • Perform assigned nursing services independently during the school day.
