About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse promotes and restores residents' quality of life through compassionate nursing care tailored to each resident's individual needs. The role is within a skilled nursing environment and calls for strong organizational, observational, and communication skills, as well as collaborative work with residents and interdisciplinary staff.

This is a full-time position for 32 hours per week, with evening or night schedule options. Evening hours are 2:45 pm–11:15 pm on weeknights and every other weekend, with some holiday requirements. Night hours are 10:45 pm–7:15 am on weeknights and every other weekend, with some holiday requirements. Pay is $29.81–$37.02 per hour, based on years of experience and licensure date, with a $1.00 weekend differential. A $4,000 sign-on bonus is paid in installments.

Requirements

• Current licensure by the State of New York as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in long-term care settings, such as skilled nursing or assisted living.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Carry out medication orders from physicians and check physician orders for accuracy.
• Monitor changes in residents' conditions and report them to the nursing supervisor and physician as appropriate.
• Assist residents with care needs, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and transferring.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to help residents function at their optimal level of independence.
• Direct nursing assistant staff and promote quality care in accordance with residents' individual care plans.
