About The Position

Armor is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting. The role supports health care providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals with patient examinations, treatments, special tests, and routine procedures. The LPN gathers patient health information and clinical measurements, conducts laboratory tests, administers medications and TB skin tests, follows practitioners’ orders, and documents patient care using the POMR format. The position also involves monitoring patient conditions, helping ensure appropriate care, and coordinating transfers to medical facilities or outside providers. Requirements

Current, active state license as an LPN.
Current CPR certificate.
Proficiency with electronic medical records.
Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance, including a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
Assist health care providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals with examinations, treatments, special tests, and routine procedures.
Obtain patient health history, laboratory specimens, and vital signs; administer TB skin tests.
Conduct laboratory tests and ensure results are delivered to the correct physician or registered nurse.
Ensure patients receive appropriate care for injuries or conditions.
Review patient charts and record and report observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient conditions.
Coordinate patient transfers to medical facilities or outside health care providers.
Administer medications and implement health care practitioners’ orders.
Document all patient contacts using the POMR format.
