About The Position

Armor is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting. The role supports healthcare providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals with examinations, treatments, special tests, and routine procedures. The LPN collects patient histories and specimens, takes vital signs, administers TB skin tests and medications, conducts lab tests, and helps ensure patients receive appropriate care. The role also involves coordinating transfers to medical facilities or outside healthcare providers, implementing practitioners’ orders, and documenting patient contacts using the POMR format. Requirements

Current, active state license as an LPN.
Current CPR certificate.
Proficiency with electronic medical records.
Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance, including a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
Assist healthcare providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals with examinations, treatments, special tests, and routine procedures.
Obtain patient health histories and laboratory specimens, take vital signs, and administer TB skin tests.
Conduct lab tests and ensure results are delivered to the correct physician or registered nurse.
Ensure patients receive proper care for injuries or conditions.
Review patient charts and record and report observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient conditions.
Coordinate patient transfers to medical facilities or outside healthcare providers.
Administer medications and implement healthcare practitioners’ orders.
Document all patient contacts using the POMR format.
