About The Position
Armor is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting. The LPN works with health care providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals to support examinations, treatments, special tests, and routine procedures. The role includes collecting patient histories and specimens, monitoring patient condition, administering medications, coordinating transfers, carrying out practitioner orders, and documenting patient contacts using the POMR format. Requirements
- Current, active state license as an LPN.
- Current CPR certificate.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records.
- Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance, including a background check and drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
- Assist health care providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals with examinations, treatments, special tests, and routine procedures.
- Obtain patient health histories, laboratory specimens, and vital signs, and administer TB skin tests.
- Conduct laboratory tests and ensure results are delivered to the correct physician or registered nurse.
- Ensure patients receive proper care for injuries or conditions.
- Review patient charts and record and report observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient conditions.
- Coordinate patient transfers to medical facilities or outside health care providers.
- Administer medications and implement health care practitioners' orders.
- Document all patient contacts using the POMR format.
