About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse for the day shift at its Baton Rouge, Louisiana facility. The role provides medical care to clients throughout admission, treatment, and discharge in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation setting. The nurse coordinates pharmacy and prescription needs, dispenses medication, maintains medication logs and medical documentation, collaborates with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams, and provides patient education in individual and group settings.

Requirements

• Completed a minimum one-year diploma program after high school.
• Current licensure to practice in-state, or compact licensure with multistate privileges.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and efficient, with the ability to multitask.
• Compassionate, dignified character that models recovery principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality medical care for each client throughout admission, treatment, and discharge.
• Coordinate pharmacy and prescription needs, dispense medication, and maintain clear medication logs.
• Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
• Maintain medical documentation, tracking, and reporting for each client.
• Provide patient education in individual and group settings.
