About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides wound care nursing services and routine care for sick or injured patients in conjunction with Registered Nurses. Using the Nursing Process, the LPN plans, implements, directs, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes. The Wound Care Nurse works collaboratively with other disciplines on the assigned unit. Ongoing training is provided.

Requirements

• Valid LPN nursing license.
• Valid CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience working with wound care patients; training will be provided.
• Experience with billing and coding.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on scientific principles, nursing theory, and evidence-based practice.
• Implement physician orders accurately within appropriate time frames.
• Recognize changes in a patient's condition and intervene appropriately.
• Prioritize nursing actions to reflect patient needs, acuity, and desired outcomes.
