About The Position
Lynbrook Restorative Therapy and Nursing is hiring per diem Licensed Practical Nurses to provide professional, considerate care to injured people. LPNs work under the supervision of a registered nurse or doctor. The role calls for qualified, compassionate professionals with experience providing diverse basic care while remaining patient and calm. All shifts are available, and employees must be available to work weekends. The site is CPT approved.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an LPN or in a similar role.
- Ability to undertake a variety of care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with hospital health, safety, and sanitation standards and procedures.
- Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices.
- Excellent knowledge of medical and hospital terminology.
- Good knowledge of MS Office and data entry.
- Excellent physical condition and stamina.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate nature and ability to handle stress.
- Successful completion of an LPN license program.
- Must be available to work weekends.
Responsibilities
- Accurately record patients’ medical histories.
- Take and record measurements such as blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate.
- Observe patients receiving treatment to identify progress and medication side effects.
- Monitor patients’ conditions, including fluid intake and output, and compose patient charts.
- Assist patients with daily activities such as eating and bathing.
- Administer injections, prescribed medications, and enemas; clean and dress wounds; and assist with other basic medical care tasks.
- Collect samples for laboratory testing as assigned.
- Provide emotional and psychological support when needed.
- Communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide advice, comfort, and release instructions.
