About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) participates in implementing and evaluating patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. In the neurology clinic, the LPN works in a fast-paced, supportive, and collaborative environment alongside medical staff and support personnel to provide compassionate care. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no weekends, holidays, or on-call duties.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Hold an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with a State Nursing Board and/or possess multistate licensure privileges.
Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
If the position requires IV therapy or management skills in North Dakota, graduate from a Board-approved AASPN program that includes IV therapy in its curriculum or complete an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of patients.
Document a thorough medical history from patients.
Contribute to patient assessments and administer medications or treatments as ordered.
Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed.
Counsel patients and family members on prevention and treatment plans under the direction of a registered nurse.
Demonstrate competency, practice within the full scope of nursing expertise and knowledge, and use appropriate age- and population-specific standards for the assigned clinical setting.
