About The Position

Amedisys is hiring a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse for home health. The nurse helps patients heal at home by delivering care in coordination with registered nurses and physicians. Responsibilities include checking vital signs, reviewing medications, providing patient and caregiver education, and performing physician-ordered procedures. Compensation is $24 to $27 per hour and may vary by location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Requirements

• One year of clinical LPN experience.
• Current LPN license specific to the state or states where assigned to work.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Verify the plan of care with the RN before each visit.
• Collaborate frequently with the physician and RN to ensure patient needs are met, and notify them as soon as possible of changes in a patient’s condition.
• Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques.
• Check vital signs.
• Review all medications and perform medication reconciliation at each visit.
• Perform specialized procedures ordered by the physician, such as Foley catheter changes.
• Prepare equipment and materials for treatments using aseptic technique.
• Complete documentation accurately and promptly.
