About The Position

Homestead Health Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse for a senior living community in Westland. The LPN delivers high-quality care to residents, supports their well-being, and helps maintain a supportive and nurturing environment. The role includes direct nursing care, medication and treatment administration, resident health monitoring, and leadership and support for resident assistants, med techs, and caregivers.

Requirements

Hold a current and valid LPN license in Michigan.
Have proven successful nursing experience in a senior living or long-term care environment, most of which should be in a management role.
Have working knowledge of nursing home regulations and the Nurse Practice Act.
Relate positively to residents, their families, employees, and the broader community, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Work collaboratively in a team environment and demonstrate excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Bring a compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to residents.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments and communicate with pharmacies.
Monitor and assess residents’ health, note and promptly report changes, and maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records.
Lead resident assistants and med techs, including patient assessments, audits, and staff training.
Supervise and support caregivers in delivering care.
Respond to emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
