About The Position

Homestead Health Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse for a senior living community in Westland. The LPN will deliver high-quality care to residents, support their well-being, and help maintain a supportive and nurturing environment. The role includes leading and supporting resident assistants, medication technicians, and caregivers to ensure superior care.

Requirements

Hold a current and valid LPN license in Michigan.
Have proven experience in a successful nursing role in a senior living or long-term care environment, most of which should be in a management role.
Have working knowledge of nursing home regulations and the Nurse Practice Act.
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to relate positively to residents, their families, employees, and the broader community.
Be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Have excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Demonstrate a compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to residents.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Communicate with pharmacies.
Monitor and assess residents’ health, promptly noting and reporting changes.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
Lead resident assistants and medication technicians, including conducting patient assessments and audits and providing staff training.
Supervise and support caregivers in delivering care.
Respond to emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
