Licensed Practical Nurse - Behavioral Health (LPN)
About The Position
The Licensed Practical Nurse provides acute inpatient care to adults experiencing emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric crises in Memorial’s 10-bed Behavioral Health Unit. The role supports patients through vulnerable moments with assessment, support, medication management, and compassionate care in an environment focused on safety, dignity, and recovery. Behavioral Health nurses work closely with Mental Health Techs, social workers, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and the broader interdisciplinary team to care for the whole person. The position emphasizes human connection, de-escalation, trust-building, advocacy, and focused patient care.
Requirements
- Active Indiana LPN license or valid compact LPN license.
Responsibilities
- Provide assessment, support, medication management, and compassionate care to adults experiencing emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric crises.
- Help maintain an environment focused on patient safety, dignity, and recovery.
- Work collaboratively with Mental Health Techs, social workers, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Help de-escalate fear, build trust, and support patients’ progress toward healing.
