About The Position

Highland Springs, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse for its inpatient behavioral health team. The 72-bed facility provides compassionate, holistic care to adults aged 18 and older experiencing mental health crises, substance abuse, dual diagnosis, or emotional disorders. The team uses a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach, trauma-informed care, and a supportive environment focused on reducing stigma.

The LPN/LVN delivers general and psychiatric nursing care under RN supervision and works with the multidisciplinary team to support patient safety and well-being. The schedule is three 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with every-other-weekend and rotating holiday work. There is no on-call requirement.

Requirements

• Hold a current Ohio LPN or LVN license.
• Graduate from an accredited Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse program.
• Obtain BLS and de-escalation certifications within 30 days of hire.

• One year of experience in a psychiatric health care facility.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that individual patient observations and checks are conducted.
• Administer medications safely and accurately, demonstrating knowledge of their indications and side effects.
• Document patient acuity, including physical and emotional status, response to interventions, and progress toward goals.
• Communicate patient responses to interventions to the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team and in daily reports.
• Interact with individual patients and groups to enhance communication and provide quality care.
• Orient patients and families to the program.
• Explain and enforce patient rights, act as a patient advocate, uphold patient rights, and preserve confidentiality.
