Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Behavioral Health
About The Position
Mercy Youngstown BH, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide care in its Behavioral Health Unit. The unit emphasizes teamwork and effective communication in delivering specialized care. The role contributes to the hospital’s mission of providing compassionate care to people facing mental health and addiction challenges. This is a full-time, day-shift position with 36-hour workweeks consisting of 12-hour shifts. Mercy Youngstown is a 72-bed behavioral health hospital in the Youngstown, Ohio area, offering 24/7 crisis care and assessment, inpatient mental health and addiction treatment, and partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs for adults age 18 and older.
Requirements
- Current state LPN license or current multistate compact license.
- Associate degree from an accredited nursing school.
- BCLS certification, or obtain it within one week of hire or transfer.
- Critical-thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
