About The Position

Benchmark Senior Living is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Assisted Living team at The Commons in Lincoln. The role delivers nursing care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment and works alongside a dedicated team to build a supportive community and lasting relationships with associates and residents. Opportunities are listed for full-time, part-time, days, evenings, weekends, temporary, and per diem schedules.

Requirements

• Current state LPN license.
• CPR certification.
• Graduate of an approved LPN program, as required by state requirements.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of experience working as a nurse is preferred.
• Previous experience working with elderly people in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents’ status.
• Observe and report significant changes in resident behavior and health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, RCAs, and Executive Director, in accordance with state regulations.
• Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of Resident Care Assistants.
• Mentor, guide, and direct Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their jobs.
• Coordinate care needs with community providers through an effective case management process.
• Balance service demands with support for resident independence.
• Recognize and assist in preventing elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, including financial exploitation, and report concerns to appropriate sources according to state regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response system alerts, and know when to call for backup.
