About The Position
Lynbrook Restorative Therapy and Nursing is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses to provide basic patient care in a restorative therapy and nursing setting. The position works under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. Candidates should be qualified, compassionate, patient, and calm, with experience providing diverse basic care. Part-time 11 p.m.–7 a.m. shifts are available at a CPT-approved site. The role is covered by the 1199 union. Salary is $35.88 per hour.
Requirements
- Ability to undertake a variety of care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with hospital health, safety, and sanitation standards and procedures.
- Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices.
- Excellent knowledge of medical and hospital terminology.
- Knowledge of Sigma Care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and able to handle stress.

- Experience providing diverse basic care.
Responsibilities
- Accurately record patients’ medical histories.
- Take and record measurements such as blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate.
- Observe patients receiving treatment to identify progress and medication side effects.
- Monitor patients’ conditions, including fluid intake and output, and maintain patient charts.
- Assist patients with daily activities such as eating and bathing.
- Administer injections and prescribed medications, clean and dress wounds, and assist with other basic medical care tasks.
- Provide emotional and psychological support when needed.
- Communicate with patients’ family members or friends to provide advice, comfort, and release instructions.
