About The Position
Excel at Woodbury is seeking part-time Licensed Practical Nurses to provide professional, considerate care to injured and ill patients. LPNs work under the supervision of a registered nurse or doctor. The role calls for qualified, compassionate caregivers who can provide a variety of basic care while remaining patient and calm. Part-time shifts are available from 7–3 and 3–11. The site is CPT approved. The position pays $35.88 per hour and is unionized.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an LPN or in a similar role.
- Ability to perform a variety of care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and sanitation standards and procedures in a hospital setting.
- Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices.
- Excellent knowledge of medical and hospital terminology.
- Good knowledge of MS Office and data entry.
- Excellent physical condition and stamina.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassion and ability to handle stress.
- Successful completion of an LPN license program.
Responsibilities
- Accurately record patients’ medical histories.
- Take and record measurements such as blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate.
- Observe patients receiving treatment to identify progress and medication side effects.
- Monitor patients’ conditions, including fluid intake and output, and prepare patient charts.
- Assist patients with daily activities such as eating and bathing.
- Administer injections, prescribed medications, and enemas; clean and dress wounds; and assist with other basic medical care tasks.
- Collect samples for laboratory testing as assigned.
- Provide emotional and psychological support when needed.
- Communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide advice, comfort, and release instructions.
