Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Assisted Living
About The Position
The Licensed Practical Nurse provides licensed nursing services to residents in an assisted living community, following Senior Lifestyle Corporation guidelines. The role includes administering medications in compliance with federal and state regulations, supporting resident admissions and care planning, and addressing clinical needs. The nurse communicates changes in residents’ health to physicians and family members, responds to emergencies, collaborates with community staff, and provides health-related education and consultation. The position is full-time during evening hours and pays $33.00 to $35.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Training from an accredited licensed or vocational nursing program.
- At least 1 year of experience in senior care or a related field.
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse license in the state of practice.
- CPR certification.
- English proficiency sufficient to perform job duties, communicate with supervisors and coworkers, and respond to emergencies.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and handle multiple tasks safely and effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle critical situations calmly and professionally.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications to residents in compliance with federal and state regulations and Senior Lifestyle Corporation guidelines.
- May oversee admission of new residents, including admission assessments and documentation.
- Complete acute and long-term care plans or service plans.
- May track clinical matters such as wounds or infection control under the director’s direction.
- Provide general consultation regarding health-related concerns within the community.
- Notify physicians and/or family members of changes in residents’ health and document appropriately.
- Respond quickly to emergencies.
- Maintain close communication with all departments and staff members.
- Provide educational meetings for residents and staff.
- Maintain confidentiality of residents’ and prospective residents’ information.
- May handle discharges, assessments, and clinical documentation as needed.
