About The Position

Fairview has an immediate opening for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join its Pediatric Care team at the Riverside location in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is a 1.0 FTE position, defined as 80 hours per two-week pay period, and is benefits-eligible. The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The LPN performs delegated nursing and medical functions, including data collection and delivery of care to an assigned group of patients or an individual patient. The LPN works under the direction of a Registered Nurse or physician/authorized practitioner and in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. The role requires adherence to applicable policies, procedures, and nursing practice guidelines.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
Current LPN license.
Basic Life Support certification.

Nice To Haves

Ambulatory care experience.
At least one year of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

Follow the patient’s plan of care.
Prioritize work based on patient acuity, available resources, and patient/family preferences, in collaboration with the RN or physician/authorized practitioner.
Perform high- and low-risk technical procedures, including medication-related procedures, as defined by the clinical setting.
Recognize when different approaches may be needed based on age or cultural differences.
Implement assigned aspects of the patient teaching plan.
Document care in the medical record.
Communicate compliance and concerns effectively to the delegating RN or physician/authorized practitioner.
Take action to assure continuity of care for all assigned patients.
Adhere to relevant policies, procedures, and nursing practice guidelines.
Respond appropriately to emergent situations.
Communicate verbal and written information clearly, concisely, accurately, and in a timely manner.
Use communication approaches appropriate to patient and family needs.
