Weekend Package Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
About The Position
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct, quality clinical care to residents and supervises nursing assistants working with residents assigned to each unit. The role includes observing and evaluating residents’ physical and emotional status, responding to changes in condition and emergencies, providing holistic care within the scope of the LPN license, monitoring medication and medical supply inventory, completing administrative documentation, and reporting occupational exposures in accordance with facility policies. This is a Weekend Package position requiring at least two shifts each weekend, either eight or twelve hours per shift. The Weekend Package incentive is an additional $5.00 per hour for work performed from 6 p.m. Friday through 7 a.m. Monday. Additional shift differentials apply for evening or night shifts on weekends.
Requirements
- Maintain a current, valid state LPN license.
- Hold current, valid CPR certification.
- Work a minimum of two shifts every weekend; shifts may be eight or twelve hours.
Responsibilities
- Visit residents on the assigned unit daily to observe and evaluate their physical and emotional status; notify the charge nurse, physician, and/or Director of Nursing of changes in condition.
- Identify resident problems and emergency situations and initiate immediate lifesaving measures when a physician is absent.
- Provide holistic resident care within the scope of the LPN license.
- Assist in monitoring medication, medical supply, and equipment inventory to ensure adequate supplies are available for residents.
- Complete administrative duties as necessary, including medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting.
- Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals according to facility policies and procedures.
