About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct, quality clinical care to residents and supervises nursing assistants working with residents assigned to each unit. The position is based at The Meadows of Ottawa in Ottawa, Ohio.

This role is part of the Weekend Package Program, which requires working a minimum of two 8-hour or 12-hour shifts every weekend. An additional $5.00 per hour is paid for hours worked between 6 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Monday, and additional shift differentials apply to weekend evening or night shifts.

Requirements

• Maintain a current, valid state LPN license.
• Hold current, valid CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Visit residents on the assigned unit daily to observe and evaluate their physical and emotional status, and report changes in condition to the charge nurse, physician, and/or Director of Nursing.
• Identify resident problems and emergency situations and initiate immediate lifesaving measures when a physician is absent.
• Provide holistic care to residents within the scope of the LPN license.
• Assist with monitoring inventory of medications, medical supplies, and equipment to ensure adequate supplies are available for residents.
• Complete administrative duties as necessary, including medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting.
• Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals according to facility policies and procedures.
