About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides nursing care in the School Nursing Program in Crawford County. The role provides direct care to students who are ill or injured, screens for health conditions and refers students for care when needed, administers medications, and supports chronic illness management. The nurse promotes a healthy and safe school environment and serves as a liaison among the school, families, and physicians. The position also includes reviewing immunization records and student health forms, documenting in the school system’s EMR, educating staff about student health issues and treatments, completing online continuing education, and attending meetings as requested. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Valid, active license in the state of Georgia.
• BLS certification.
• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
• At least one year of practical nursing experience.

Nice To Haves

• Pediatric experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with an economically disadvantaged population is preferred.

Responsibilities
