Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Fulton County Nursing
About The Position
The Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct patient care to assigned patients on a nursing unit, within the LPN’s scope of practice and under the direction of a registered nurse as part of the nursing team. The role requires the knowledge and clinical skills gained through nursing education and clinical experience, and responsibility for safe delegation of nursing tasks to unlicensed personnel involved in patient care. The LPN supports quality-focused, cost-effective care and participates in continuous quality improvement. The position requires competence across a wide range of nursing skills, adherence to nursing care standards, and contribution to a collaborative team. The employee is accountable for understanding and promoting the hospital’s mission, values, and standards. The employee must understand and follow Baxter Health standards and policies and work regularly with the Nurse Director to carry out, initiate, or implement best practices. The position is designated safety-sensitive under Arkansas Act 593 governing medical marijuana.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Arkansas or Compact State LPN license in good standing.
- BLS certification required.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Basic computer knowledge required.
- Applicants without experience must successfully complete a residency program.
