About The Position
Centurion Health partners with the Georgia Department of Corrections to provide comprehensive medical and behavioral healthcare services to individuals in custody. The Licensed Practical Nurse at Walker State Prison provides direct patient care and supports daily clinical operations in a structured correctional healthcare setting. The role is suited to a nurse who values consistent routines and a collaborative, team-based environment. This full-time day-shift position is 32 hours per week: Thursday from 9:30 AM to 6 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 5 AM to 5 PM. Compensation is $29.00–$34.00 per hour, plus a $1.00-per-hour weekend differential.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in behavioral health, correctional healthcare, or an emergency room.
- An active and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license, either Compact (MSL) or Georgia (SL).
- Active certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Ability to obtain security clearance through the Georgia Department of Corrections, which may include a drug screen and criminal background check.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, ethical, and evidence-based nursing care.
- Follow established safety, security, and infection control protocols.
- Monitor patient conditions and appropriately report changes.
- Collaborate with medical, mental health, and custody teams.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
