Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Assisted Living - Part Time - NIGHT
About The Position
The Licensed Practical Nurse provides licensed nursing services to residents in an assisted living community, following applicable guidelines from Senior Lifestyle Corporation. The role includes administering medications in compliance with federal and state regulations, supporting resident admissions and discharges when assigned, and completing care plans, assessments, and clinical documentation. The nurse also responds to emergencies, communicates resident health changes to physicians and family members, consults on health-related concerns, and works closely with community staff while maintaining confidentiality.
Requirements
- Training from an accredited licensed or vocational nursing program.
- General nursing education or training.
- At least 1 year of experience in senior care or a related field.
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse license in the state of practice.
- CPR certification.
- Acceptable proficiency in English to perform job duties, communicate with supervisors and coworkers, and respond to and communicate during emergencies.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and handle multiple tasks safely and effectively.
- High tolerance for working under pressure and handling critical situations calmly and professionally.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications to residents in compliance with federal and state regulations and Senior Lifestyle Corporation guidelines.
- May complete admissions of new residents, including admission assessments and documentation.
- Complete acute and long-term care plans or service plans.
- May track clinical systems, such as wounds or infection control, under the director’s direction.
- Provide general consultation about health-related concerns within the community.
- Notify physicians and/or family members about changes in residents’ health and document appropriately.
- Respond quickly to emergencies.
- Maintain close communication with all departments and staff members.
- Provide educational meetings for residents and staff.
- Maintain confidentiality of residents’ and prospective residents’ information.
- May complete discharges, assessments, and clinical documentation as needed.
