About The Position

Providence Clinic is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) to join their team. This role involves a variety of clinical and administrative responsibilities to support patient care and clinic operations. The ideal candidate will be skilled in patient interaction, knowledgeable in medical procedures and documentation, and able to work effectively in a team environment.

Requirements

  • Must be knowledgeable of EMR.
  • Knowledge of nursing principles and protocols and all aspects of medication names and prescribing.
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety and patient confidentiality as directed by HIPAA standards.
  • Knowledge of medical chart reporting and records.
  • Skilled in customer service and have a pleasant and courteous demeanor while dealing with all patients and callers.
  • Well organized and detail oriented and able to work independently without much supervision.
  • Skills in critical thinking, communication, influence and decision making.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a member of office staff and team.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • State Licensed LPN Nurse.
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Certification.
  • Current CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Giving Allergy injections and mixing Allergy serums.
  • Patient triage including weight, blood pressure, temperature readings, updating medication lists, and obtaining/documenting chief complaints.
  • Electronic patient prescription services, including communication with pharmacies and verification of medical prescriptions.
  • Performing phlebotomy and EKGs.
  • Answering telephone, screening calls, retrieving voicemails, and returning patient calls.
  • Handling precertification requirements for all procedures.
  • Calling patients regarding lab results.
  • Maintaining daily logs.
  • Answering questions regarding patient appointments and testing.
  • Communicating with patients regarding information and education about procedure preps.
  • Scheduling procedures, medical tests, and referral appointments, including coordinating and rescheduling as necessary.
  • Scheduling appointments and verifying necessary information such as demographics and insurance information in the patient medical record or file.
  • Assisting other staff as directed.
  • Performing other job functions as directed.
  • Attending meetings as required.
