About The Position

Dirks Companies, LLC, a Verified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business specializing in construction, logistics, and disaster response and recovery, is seeking an experienced Licensed Plumber. This role is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in a federally contracted ICE residential facility located in Alexandria, Louisiana. The position requires expertise, blueprint interpretation, and safe operation of plumbing tools and equipment.

Requirements

• Active plumbing license required.
• Strong knowledge of construction plumbing methods and practices.
• Proficiency with plumbing hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift required materials.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
• Must show proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

• Previous construction site experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, pipes, fixtures, and appliances
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Perform pipe threading, assembly, and related plumbing tasks
• Safely utilize hand tools and power tools
• Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding plumbing work
• Provide general maintenance support, including carpentry and remodeling tasks when needed
• Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing, drainage, and water distribution issues
• Conduct inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance activities
• Ensure compliance with plumbing codes and safety regulations
