Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Five years of trade-specific experience working with plumbing and mechanical systems related to Building Infrastructure.
  • Must demonstrate abilities to operate, maintain, repair, and diagnose complex, critical mechanical/plumbing systems and equipment relating to Building Infrastructure.
  • Minnesota Journeyman or Masters Plumbing License.
  • ASSE 5110. Backflow Prevention Tester Certified and ASSE 5130 Backflow Prevention Rebuilder Certified or able to obtain this within one year of hire date.
  • Complete the Utility Mechanical, or the Plumbing Utility specialty criteria within 2 years of hire date.

Nice To Haves

  • Four years of military experience in a related field may be considered in lieu of the field service experience requirements.
  • Experience working in a healthcare facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services and support in critical patient care areas including Emergency Department, Linen & Central Services, Pediatric & Neonatal & other Intensive Care Units, Inpatient care areas, Psychiatric & Complex Intervention Units, Transplant Units, Labor & Delivery, Cath Labs, and a Heliport.
  • Support the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) and areas/occupants of a Chapel and Convent.
  • Complete Preventive Maintenance (PM) per policies and/or procedures following the CMMS timeline, aligning with The Joint Commission requirements.
  • Operate, maintain, repair, and diagnose complex, critical mechanical/plumbing systems and equipment relating to Building Infrastructure.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, assertiveness, and versatility in responding to customer needs.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize work tasks.
  • Collaborate with others in planning and scheduling modifications and repairs to systems with minimal disruption and within fiscal constraints.
  • Be alert to all aspects of equipment when responding to customer requests and communicate concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess excellent human relations skills to interact with staff, visitors, and patients.
  • Be available to work occasional overtime.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required, adhering to maximum response times per campus location.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to others.
