About The Position

The Staff Therapist Assistant provides therapy services to patients with various diagnoses as prescribed by a licensed physician. The position follows care plans developed by a PT, OT, or SLP, delivers appropriate treatment, documents treatment and progress, and communicates patient-status changes to the appropriate clinician or director. Patient care and documentation must comply with department policies and applicable professional practice rules and regulations.

This is a per diem, day-shift position at West Boca Medical Center. The hospital describes its work environment as supportive and collaborative, with access to advanced technology and a healthcare community focused on patient care.

Requirements

• BLS certification approved by the AHA.
• An associate's degree in OTA, PTA, or SLPA.
• Licensure by the Florida Department of Health, Division of Medical Quality Assurance.
• For an SLPA in a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), a Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) or documentation that the candidate is in the process of completing the CCC.

• One year or more of experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care developed by the PT, OT, or SLP, and document treatment within 24 hours of the visit, in accordance with department policy.
• Deliver effective and appropriate treatment that corresponds to the plan of care.
• Update the PT, OT, SLP, or Director on changes in patient status.
• Complete treatment and progress documentation on time.
• Ensure paper documentation is legible.
• Maintain a very low rate of documentation errors.
• Provide patient care in accordance with department policies and applicable rules, regulations, codes of ethics, guidelines, and federal, state, and local laws concerning professional practice.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
