About The Position

The Staff Therapist Assistant provides therapy services to patients with various diagnoses as prescribed by a licensed physician. The assistant follows the plan of care developed by a PT, OT, or SLP and performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in OTA, PTA, or SLPA.
• BLS approved by the AHA.
• Licensed by the Florida Department of Health, Division of Medical Quality Assurance.
• For an SLPA in a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), a Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) or documentation that the candidate is in the process of completing the CCC.
• Minimum required experience: none.

• One year or more of experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care developed by the PT, OT, or SLP, and document treatment within 24 hours of the visit, per department policy.
• Deliver effective and appropriate treatment that corresponds to the plan of care.
• Update the PT, OT, SLP, or Director on changes in patient status.
• Complete documentation of treatment and progress on time.
• Ensure paper documentation is legible.
• Maintain very low rates of documentation errors.
• Perform patient care within department policies and in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, codes of ethics, guidelines, and federal, state, and local laws concerning professional practice.
