About The Position

Warby Parker is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Optician to join its in-house optical team. The role involves helping customers with their eyewear needs and delivering knowledgeable, attentive service to both longtime customers and first-time wearers. The Optician will develop expertise in Warby Parker’s brand and products, help customers understand prescriptions and choose suitable frames and lenses, and ensure completed eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements. The role also involves collaborating with teammates on service and sales practices and representing the company’s values and mission.

Requirements

• Licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license, or ABO-certified optician in states without licensing requirements.
• Passionate about the eyewear and retail industries.
• Clear, effective, and professional communicator who can explain technical terms in an accessible way.
• Dedicated to going above and beyond to make customers and teammates happy.
• Energetic, positive team player who can adapt to a fast-paced, changing work environment.
• Extremely detail-oriented and able to manage a wide range of responsibilities.
• Open-minded and committed to continuous learning.
• Not listed on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to meet their eyewear needs.
• Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear accurately.
• Check that finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements and requests.
• Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
• Work with the team to ensure customers receive exceptional service.
• Help customers choose frames and lenses based on prescription needs, fit, personal style, and lifestyle.
• Collaborate with teammates to develop sales and customer-service practices that can be implemented throughout the organization.
• Represent the brand and educate others about its values and mission.
