About The Position

The Licensed Optician delivers the LensCrafters brand value proposition and helps establish the company as the premier destination for vision needs in the community. The role creates value for customers by providing exceptional service and high-quality, precisely crafted eyewear that exceeds expectations. The optician fits and adjusts eyewear, takes measurements, assists with complex products and prescriptions, and uses technology and product knowledge to support customers and store operations.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• State licensure.
• Optical dispensing experience.
• Strong customer service skills, including communication, listening, and team-building.
• Knowledge of current store merchandise.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Awareness of current fashion trends.
• Selling skills and ability to use and carry an iPad or tablet.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, computers, and calculators.
• Willingness to embrace new technology and change.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and set expectations for their experience.
• Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
• Serve as a leader in optical knowledge.
• Take and record measurements, accurately adjust and fit eyewear, and ensure finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs.
• Assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
• Use technology accurately under time pressure and during high customer volume, apply product knowledge, and use appropriate tools.
• Proactively identify root causes of issues, resolve problems, and ensure customer satisfaction and expectations are exceeded.
• Multi-task, prioritize, and manage competing demands on time.
• Strive to achieve brand key performance indicators and competencies.
• Help keep the store clean, attractive, and organized.
• Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
• Continue learning and improving while working toward results.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including those for discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
