About The Position

The Licensed Optician delivers the LensCrafters brand value proposition and helps establish the store as a premier destination for vision needs in the community. The role creates value for customers by providing exceptional customer service and carefully crafted, high-quality eyewear that exceeds expectations. The position combines optical dispensing expertise, precise eyewear fitting, product knowledge, and support for store goals and operations.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• State licensure.
• Optical dispensing experience.
• Strong customer service skills, including communication, listening, and teamwork.
• Knowledge of current store merchandise.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Awareness of current fashion trends.
• Selling skills and ability to use and carry an iPad or tablet.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, computers, and calculators.
• Willingness to embrace new technology and change.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and set expectations for their experience.
• Custom-fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
• Serve as a leader in optical knowledge and assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
• Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear accurately, and ensure finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs.
• Use technology accurately under time pressure and during periods of high customer volume, applying product knowledge and appropriate tools.
• Identify root causes of issues, proactively find solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction and that expectations are exceeded.
• Multitask, prioritize, and manage time when handling competing priorities.
• Work toward exceptional results on brand key performance indicators and competencies.
• Help keep the store clean, attractive, and organized.
• Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
• Pursue continued learning, improvement, and results.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including those for discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
