About The Position

The Licensed Optician delivers the LensCrafters brand value proposition and helps establish the store as the premier destination for vision needs in the community. The role creates value for customers through exceptional service and high-quality, carefully crafted eyewear that exceeds customer expectations. The position also serves as a leader in optical knowledge, supporting colleagues with complex product needs and prescriptions while ensuring eyewear is accurately fitted and meets company standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State licensure.
• Optical dispensing experience.
• Strong customer service skills, including communication, listening, and team building.
• Knowledge of current store merchandise.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Awareness of current fashion trends.
• Selling skills and ability to use and carry an iPad or tablet.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, computers, and calculators.
• Willingness to embrace new technology and change.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and set expectations.
• Custom-fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
• Act as a leader in optical acumen.
• Take and record measurements; accurately adjust and fit eyewear; ensure finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs.
• Assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
• Use technology accurately under time pressure and during high customer volumes; apply product knowledge and appropriate tools.
• Explore root causes of issues, anticipate needs, and resolve problems to ensure customer satisfaction and exceed expectations.
• Multitask, prioritize, and manage time across competing priorities.
• Strive to achieve exceptional results on brand KPIs and competencies.
• Help keep the store clean, attractive, and organized.
• Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
• Pursue continual learning and improvement while focusing on results.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including those related to discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
