About The Position

The Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) works in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, providing patient care in a supportive team environment. The unit offers a 7:1 patient ratio, self-scheduling options, varied patient acuity, access to supportive leadership, and close collaboration with experienced nursing staff. The position is onsite and scheduled for 36 hours per week, working three 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The LNA supports patients with assessment, personal care, nutrition, mobility, comfort, and safety, while helping maintain unit operations and developing their practice through training and ongoing learning.

Requirements

Current LNA certification; NH LNA license required.
BLS required.
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Measure and record vital signs and patient information.
Assist with specimen management and bedside laboratory testing.
Observe and report patient responses to care.
Support patients with feeding and nutritional intake.
Assist patients with personal hygiene and elimination needs.
Promote mobility through ambulation and exercise therapy.
Assist patients with dressing, bathing, and oral health maintenance.
Provide comfort measures and emotional support to patients.
Facilitate visits from family and friends.
Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
Assist in emergency situations and maintain safety precautions.
Assist with errands and the discharge process to support departmental operations.
Help orient new staff members.
Maintain current knowledge and competency in LNA practice.
Participate in in-service training and development opportunities.
