About The Position

The Licensed Mental Health Professional works in a correctional facility to ensure inmates receive appropriate mental health services and care. The role includes conducting intake evaluations, providing therapeutic interventions and suicide-prevention support, developing treatment plans, monitoring the clinical needs of patients on a caseload, training staff on mental health topics, and documenting findings in accordance with company and facility policies.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or another related mental health discipline.
One or more years of experience in a mental health treatment program.
Unrestricted, current license in the state of practice, such as LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LMHC, or Psychologist.
Maintain all licensures, certifications, and continuing education requirements.
Must reside in the United States.

Responsibilities

Conduct screenings, assessments, and triages for inmates referred by security, healthcare staff, and other community sources, and recommend appropriate levels of care.
Develop and recommend treatment plans; provide essential treatment services, including psychoeducational and transitional groups; and deliver suicide-prevention interventions and management techniques.
Respond to sick-call requests, support medication adherence, and coordinate with prescribing providers for medication evaluations.
Provide crisis intervention and oversee the clinical needs of patients on the caseload.
Participate in multidisciplinary treatment-team and administrative meetings.
Train staff on relevant mental health topics.
Document findings in patients’ health records and ensure compliance with facility and company policies and procedures.
